Trader Joes in the Triangle!

I'm very happy to report that Trader Joes has opened a store in Cary. It's about a 30 minute drive from our place. I made the trip yesterday, the last day before I began my new temp job, which should last about two months, or mid Jan. Depending on if I can stand it.

I was so happy to be in Trader Joes! All my favorite snacks and wines and cheeses, at my fingertips. I actually got a little choked up when I was in there- I'm not sure if it is repressed homesickness sneaking out or if I was having tears of joy- either way it was nice to feel something at all.

I spent $75.00, the most I've ever spent in Trader Joes, ever. But I got some good deals, and some old favorites. I bought the little cheese and proscuito roll I love so much, and Patrick's favorite Peanut Butter Chocolate Chunk Cookies. I bought the Pita Chips with Sea Salt, 2 Glycerine liquid hand soaps, three bottles of wine including a favorite from Chili, Old Farmhouse English Cheddar Cheese, the Masala Simmer sauce, a Veggie Pizza, frozen SoyBean Sucatash, and much much more. You folks out in Los Angeles, don't take TJ's for granted! Blessed are those who can walk to Trader Joes.

Why Does Gus Need A Blog?

Good question. Sometimes I find myself emailing stories or thoughts to a bunch of friends and realize I left someone off. Maybe some of the people I included in the email don't really care what I said in the email and would like a choice whether or not to read my thoughts! Sometimes I just want to blab and feel self important and think that there are legions of like minded people who would like to know what I think about certain topics. But most of all I don't want to be the last kid on the block to have one!

I also have a couple of bloggers on this website who I like to check in on now and then and thought why not just create my own damn blog and be done with it.

Some of the things you might find in my blog: My thoughts and feelings on politics. How religion, faith and the lack thereof has affected me, my family and my friends. Movies I'm watching, music I'm listening to, and TV shows that hold my interest. Books I'm reading. It will be a crap shoot! We'll see how it goes. This could be the only blog entry we ever see. Time will tell. Hindsight is 20/20.
